Terms & Conditions

Entrants to our prize competition should review, agree to and keep a copy of the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry and claim instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and Conditions and by participating, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Please retain a copy for your information.

1.2 Promoters: Grand Draw Ltd, a UK company number 12967860 registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, Greater London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.

1.4 The promotion is open to all persons, aged 18 or over. This excludes the promoters, their spouses and children and anyone else directly connected with the development, administration or operation of the website and/or database.

1.5 The promoters will allow marketing "influencers" and celebrities that may be paid to help promote the competition to enter the competition themselves.  They may also receive free entries by sharing their SHARE CODE as any competition entrant is allowed to do. 

1.6 The promotion will run from 9:00AM GMT on 1st December, 2020 , until 12:00PM BST on 30th June, 2021

2. Prize Draw Entries

2.1 To enter visit https://granddraw.co.uk to purchase tickets or view details of how to enter for FREE. Entrants will be required to submit their name, address, email address and telephone number and confirm that they are over 18 years of age. Entrants must use their own skill and judgement to give the correct answer to a question, in order to enter the main prize draw. Each entrant acknowledges that in answering the question they are demonstrating the application of skill, judgement or knowledge in determining the correct answer.

2.2 Ticket payments can only be made in £GBP and English is the only language in which an entrant may submit their entry.

2.3 There is no limit to the number of entries an individual can purchase.

2.4 Financial transactions are processed by third party payment providers. Their Terms and Conditions can be viewed on the payment page of the transaction.

2.5 Invalid or late entries will not be accepted. The promoter takes no responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.

2.6 Free entry is available to UK residents, by postal application. Each postal entry should be sent on an individual postcard (not in an envelope) to Grand Draw Orleton, Unit 2, Bridge Street, Wordsley, West Midlands. DY8 5YU  No other correspondence should be sent to this address.

2.7 Postal entries must include the answer to the question (as displayed on the website), along with the entrants name, address, date of birth, email address and telephone number, plus confirmation that the entrant has read and accepted these Terms and Conditions as well as the unique SHARE CODE given to the entrant upon registration to the site.

2.8 Entrants must ensure that all postal entries are dispatched at least 3 days prior to the closing date to ensure processing and entry. The promoters cannot accept responsibility for post delays or entries lost or damaged in the post. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery.

2.9 Only correctly completed entries, received before the closing date, will be entered into the main prize draw.

2.10 All postal entries received will be input to the main prize draw database and ticket numbers will be emailed to the entrants within 7 days of receipt of the postcard.

2.11 Entrants are solely and completely responsible for submitting information that is legible, complete, current and true. Entrants who do not give correct details or those who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified, at the promoters’ discretion.

2.12 Anyone who has any queries regarding missing tickets (paid for or free) must email the promoter at orleton@granddraw.co.uk so that replacements can be issued if necessary. Such queries will not be handled after the closing date.

2.13 Participants may enter both paid for and free entries.

2.14 The promoters will not accept liability for any failure or inability to make contact with any entrant as the result of omissions or inaccuracies in the contact details provided by the entrant or otherwise.

2.15 Entrants recognise that the promoters may disclose entrants’ details to relevant third parties for the purposes of prevention of fraud, money laundering, legal or other financial regulatory reasons.

2.16 Entrants acknowledge that entering the prize draw does not guarantee in any way that they will win the prize.

2.17 All entries to the prize draw are final and no refunds will be issued.

3. The Prize

3.1 The winner of the main prize will receive the title deed ownership of Orleton House, Kitchen Hill Road, Orleton, Ludlow. SY8 4HN

3.2 The whole property, consisting of the main house, and large barn suitable for renovation into further properties (subject to planning permission) has been independently valued at £1,100,000. In addition, the prize includes the cost of the conveyancing fees, 1 year of Council Tax and any Stamp Duty Land Tax due.  The prize will be transferred to the winner free of all mortgages, charges and encumbrances.

3.3 The promoters will not be liable for any taxes, fees or payments outside the UK, which the winner may be liable for. 

3.4 Entrants should rely on their own enquiries and legal advice about the prize before entering the prize draw.

3.5 The property will be vacant upon possession.

3.6 A minimum 170,000 entry packages are required to be purchased at an average purchase price of £10 to achieve the target figure and for the property transfer to take place.

3.7 After credit card transaction fees, the target ticket sales will generate approximately £1.63M, which will then be subject to marketing, website and legal costs, the monthly cash prizes, stamp duty, council tax, a donation to charity of £100,000 and £100,000 for the promoters. This leaves £1.1M for the property.

3.8 If the target figure is not achieved by the closing date, the promoters reserve the right to extend the closing date of the draw if they feel that some additional time would secure the necessary sales.  If any changes are made to the closing date of the draw,  an email will be sent to all participants.

3.9 If the target figure is not achieved by the closing date, and an extension is not enacted by the promoters, a cash prize will be offered instead.  The amount of the prize will be 100% of the total amount of ticket sales less payment processing fees and costs, legal, website, promotion and marketing costs, the monthly cash prizes for SHARE codes,  and a discretionary donation to the charity and to the home owner.

3.10 If the target figure is achieved prior to the closing date, the promoters will donate 50% of additional NET ticket receipts to our charity partners in addition to the £100,000.  There is no upper limit to the charitable donation.

4. The "Grand Draw"

4.1 The main prize draw will take place 7 days after the closing date, on 14th July, 2021. The winner will be selected at random from the database, using an independent selection process. Invited guests will include an independent representative from the legal profession (who will oversee the process, make the draw and confirm the winner’s name), a representative from the charity, technical support team and members of the press. The prize draw will be recorded.  All of these subject to any Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time.

4.2 The winner will be contacted by telephone call on the day of the prize draw. If there is no response, the winner will be notified by email and post, using the contact details supplied on their entry. If the winner does not respond within 21 days of the draw, or is ineligible, the promoters shall be entitled to select another winning entry using the same independent process as 4.1. The process will repeat until an eligible winner is able to claim the prize. Entrants are encouraged to monitor their connections during this time in case they are the winner.

4.3 All reasonable efforts will be made to transfer the title deeds to the winner within 6 weeks of the prize draw date. If the process is delayed for any reason (for example, due to continued Covid-19 restrictions), the promoter will endeavour to update the winner in regards to the delivery of the prize.

5. Referrals

5.1 All entrants who purchase one or more tickets will be issued with a personal SHARE CODE / URL link. When this is used to purchase entries, the person who originally shared the link, as well as the purchaser, will automatically receive free entries for the main prize draw.  1 free entry will be given to both the originator and the purchaser for every 10 entries purchased.  These free tickets will be sent by email and available to view at any time on the My Account page.

5.2 There is no limit to the number of free entries into the main prize draw an entrant can be awarded for generating ticket sales through sharing their SHARE CODE / URL.

5.3 An entrant, whose SHARE CODE / URL generates ticket sales, will also be given an automatic entry into the current monthly cash prize draw. There is no limit to the number of free referral tickets an entrant can be awarded. Entrants who successfully share their link each month, will be given entries into the monthly cash prize draw.

5.4 Entries will be collected for a cash prize draw up to midnight on the last day of each month while the competition is active starting with 31st January 2021.  The draw itself will occur within 5 days of each monthly period closing. For example,  entries are collected through January up the 31st,  and then the winner from those entries will be drawn before February 5th.  Any entries after midnight on the 31st January will be put into the February draw and so on.

5.5 The prizes for each monthly cash prize draw will be made to total £2,500.   

5.6 For each monthly cash prize draw, the prize winners will be selected at random, by an independent third party.  The winners will be contacted by telephone call and/or email on the day of the prize draw and their first name, last initial and town of residence will be displayed on the website and social media pages.

5.7 If there is no response, the winner will be notified by email and post, using the contact details supplied on their entry. If the winner does not respond within 21 days of the draw, or is ineligible, the promoters shall be entitled to select another winning entry using the same process as 5.6. The process will repeat until an eligible winner is able to claim the prize. Entrants are encouraged to monitor their connections during this time in case they are the winner.

5.8 The promoters reserve the right to verify all entries. The winners of the monthly cash prize draws will be required to email a copy of their valid ID (passport, ID card or driving licence) to prove their age and identity.

5.9 The prizes totaling £2,500 per monthly draw will be paid by bank transfer or banker’s draft, within 7 days of receiving proof of ID.

6. General

6.1 These Terms and Conditions do not create any form of contract, agreement or joint venture between the entrant and the promoters.

6.2 Any tax liability arising from the receipt of the prize will be the responsibility of the recipient.

6.3 This prize draw, its administration and all associated activities are governed by English and Welsh law. The promoters and entrants recognise that the County or High Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, in the event of any dispute arising from the prize draw or its administration.

6.4 The promoters decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6.5 The first initial, surname and town of residence of the winner of the main prize draw and the winners of the monthly cash prize draws will be displayed on the website and social media pages for three months after the close of the promotion. Entrants can object to disclosure, or request that disclosure be limited in scope, by contacting Grand Draw Ltd.  We may, nevertheless, disclose information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so.

6.6 The promoters will ensure that all entries, paid for or free, are treated equally, provided all other conditions are met.

6.7 The promoters and their agents will not be liable for any damages or loss (economic or otherwise) sustained by any person as a result of any act or omission (perceived or actual) during the development, planning and administration of the prize draws, transferring the prizes to the winners and following the transfer of the prizes except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case the liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.

6.8 The promoters do not accept responsibility for entries which are not received, due to failures in computer hardware or software, programming, server issues or internet malfunctions, such as issues arising from high internet traffic, or for any other reason.

6.9 The promoters do not accept any responsibility for any losses resulting from fraudulent third party activity, including imitation or duplication of the website or promotion social media pages.

6.10 If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.

6.11 The promoters reserve the right to refuse to award the prize or withdraw prize entitlement and/or refuse further participation in the promotion and disqualify the participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of the Terms and Conditions, the spirit of the promotion, any instructions forming part of this promotion’s entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating or won using fraudulent means, including any hacking or interference with the proper functioning of the website, or the unauthorised use of any code that forms part of the website and associated systems. In such circumstances, no refunds will be given and the entrant shall be reported to the relevant authorities.

6.12 In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the promoters, or otherwise where fraud, abuse and/or an error affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of prizes, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the promoters reserve the right to cancel or amend these Terms and Conditions, at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimise the effects to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment. If the prize draw is cancelled the promoters will offer entrants the opportunity to either donate their entry fee/s to our charity partners or receive a refund of monies received by the promoter (after payment gateway costs). Where an entry fee is returned, the promoter shall have no further liability to the entrant or to any other person.

6.13 The promoter shall only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and for no other purpose, except with the entrants’ consent. Entrants acknowledge that the promoter may pass such information to its third party agency, solely for the purposes of administering the promotion. Personal details will be kept confidential at all times, in accordance with current Data Protection legislation. The promoters’ Privacy Policy is available to view Privacy Policy. Entrants can request access to their personal data or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to info@granddraw.co.uk. By participating in the prize draw, entrants agree to the use of their personal data as described here.
